The Most American Cars of 2016

Looking to make a patriotic purchase? While some make lists of the most American cars considering just factory employment numbers or the origin of a few parts, the Kogod School of Business took it a step further. This list considers profit margin, general labor, research and development, origin of major parts, inventory, capital, other expenses, and more to determine the “Total Domestic Content.” Their research is exhaustive, giving consumers a reliable idea of how “American” a 2016 car will be.
With Buick, Chevy, Cadillac, and GMC dominating the list of most American cars of 2016, General Motors is arguably the most American car manufacturer this year. Other prominent most-American car models were created by Ford, Honda, Toyota, Lincoln, and Jeep.
