Cars from the Stars – Vehicles Named After Stars, Planets and Celestial Bodies

On this day, September 23rd, it is officially the first day of fall due to the Autumnal Equinox. Cars are our specialty so it’s hard to fully comprehend what exactly an equinox means, besides the first day of fall. Technically, the Autumnal Equinox occurs when the plane of the equator passes through the center of the sun causing the tilt in the earth’s axis to be neither toward nor away from the sun.

That’s about all of an astronomy lesson as we can give you. Now back to cars.

There is a vehicle named the Chevrolet Equinox, named after this very event today. Then we got to thinking about what other vehicles are named after celestial bodies or themes.
