6 Best Superbowl Car Commercials of 2016

A New Truck to Love – Honda Ridgeline

Sure it’s cheesy, but we think Honda nailed it in presenting the all-new 2017 Honda Ridgeline. These singing sheep do an excellent job of featuring the most unique of the Ridgeline, like truck bed audio and the truck bed storage compartment. Of the 2016 Superbowl car commercials, this one got the biggest laugh at our party.

The Longest Chase – Toyota Prius

The 2016 Toyota Prius is totally redesigned. Sure, many gearheads scoff at this hybrid, and pickup truck drivers sport “Prius repellant” bumper stickers, but Toyota is still proud of their top-selling hybrid car. While poking fun at itself, Toyota makes a hilarious little commercial showcasing the infamous, all-new Prius.

What He Said – Acura NSX

It’s not funny or emotional, but this Acura commercial silenced the room, especially if any gear-heads were present. Just the sound of the all-new 2017 Acura NSX had everyone in the room drooling.

Commander – Audi R8

This one gave us the chills. Seeing a retired astronaut regain his zeal for life in the driver’s seat of an Audi R8 is quite inspiring, not to mention the awesome tribute to David Bowie.

Portraits – Jeep

To commemorate 75 years of Jeep, the brand chose a simple slideshow of engaging pictures and music. This commercial silenced the room at many houses. Jeep empowers its owners and speaks to its heritage beautifully. Jeep owner or not, this commercial had an emotional impact.

First Date – Hyundai Genesis

Last but not least of the 2016 Superbowl car commercials, how could we forget Kevin Hart’s obsessive parenting and creepy smiles at the camera? This one is pretty self-explanatory, showcasing the beautiful new Hyundai Genesis and the Car Finder feature. Young, single men take note, don’t get too excited when the dad says, “Take my new car!”
